poppies
poppies were always my grandmother's favorite, and so they have become one of mine, and always remind me of her. the poppies at the boise depot are in bloom and i had a chance to take a few pics before the shoot last friday. i hope these brighten your day, like they did mine.

spring sneak peek
ok, so technically friday was still spring. summer solstice is today!
and boy have we had a loooong, wet, spring. but friday’s weather was perfect for a quick shoot. we got started a little late and the shadows were a bit rough, especially when coupled with the beautiful fair skin of this little dude. the sun was so bright and high... but i still think we got some keepers...
and here’s another challenge i hadn’t yet dealt with: you can tell a family or group to all wear clothing in similar tones to avoid exposure & contrast issues... but what do you do when one person has a dark complexion and the other is so fair? not so much control over that! so you’ll see here that mom & dad have dark hair and eyes but their son is just about as fair & blonde as you get, resulting in some shots where blondie is washed out, but everyone else is lookin’ pretty good. so i tried some interesting color treatment and tweaking that i actually like very much... and i think it works especially well with the candid nature of the shots (those are at the end of the post). check it out and let me know what you think!
it was a pleasure to take the Allison’s pictures! and i hope they enjoy this little sneak peek!
